january 29th - my baptism date.
can you remember how you felt at your baptism?.
i got baptised because my dad kept frightening me.
i was 14. i attended meetings with my mum. she was baptised before.
my dad had been having a study--and said he was getting baptised at the local assembly. i knew some of the kids my age in the congregation were getting baptised as well. so i thought it would be cool if i was too--to be with dad .
one of the kids getting dipped told me i would be asked 2 questions--and i had to shout out--no.
this was 56 years ago.
i rather apprehensively would like to say hello.. i've been raised somewhat in the truth,one of my parents is rather rather strong in the beliefs but could honestly be considered pomi with how active they are and their side of the family comes from a line of witnesses, the other parent was but faded a long time ago.
as such i was taught quite a bit of jw teachings between family and off and on again bible studies.
recently i had a serious emotional break down over a few months after said pomi parent had advised me that they would not attend my wedding should that day come (i also had recieved a text from my bible teacher i hadnt heard from in a year or two giving a scripture) and it sorta all sank on me that my activity over the last few years was not really jw material.
dont worry about it--the GB are definitely Jehovah's sole channel of communication with mankind...so it must be right.
most every night, where i work i transport dead persons to the morgue.
others i work with have told me that around 3:00am they hear voices in the morgue.. i asked them have they experienced something more than physical life?
just the voices inside the cold morgue.
maybe someone wasnt so dead after all.

have you ever heard of a jw minor getting disfellowshipped and their parents then throwing them out of home?
i know of 1, 14yr old, df'd for smoking and the very same night it was annoced his mother kicked him out of the family home on to the streets!.
unsurprisingly as an adult he's never returned to his mother or the wt .
a friend of mine who pioneered after leaving school--told her dad she didnt want to be a dub any more--she was 17 and living at home. till that point. she was homeless that night. now 30 years later i dont think they have spoken since.

actually--in the UK 5 congregations could easily share one hall.
sat am and pm..2 x cong meetings
sun am , pm and evening--another 3 lots.
then--if there still are evening sessions--mon to fri will cover it.

my name is matthew j and i have just ended my study with the jehovah's witnesses.
no, i did not stop studying because i believe the jehovah's witnesses are a 'cult', i left due to the minor beliefs that i hold that remain separate from the organization.
i called my elder who is still an amazing man and great counselor, affirming that i do not wish to continue my studying.
probably find the OP is in one of those african countries showing booming watchtower growth. no matter how much he sucks up to it --he still wont get a visa.
